Historic Preservation Day

The Nevada State Railroad Museum will host this year’s Boulder City Historic Preservation Day. The 2024 theme is planes, trains, and automobiles, and we have plenty of historic trains for you to discover. There will be informational booths with children’s activities from the Nevada State Museum Las Vegas, Lost City Museum, and Operation Lifesaver. The museum will offer morning presentation about our on-going preservation efforts, and key visitors will have an opportunity to explore the private car Ellsmere which is only open to the public select days through the year.
8:00am – 8:30am Welcome Reception in Maintenance Facility
8:30am – 9:00am 2024 Preservation Efforts at NSRMBC by Braden Brickman, Railroad Restoration Specialist
9:00am – 9:45am Preserving the Jackass & Western Railroad by Dr. Christopher MacMahon, Museum Director
10:00am – 3:30pm Historic Preservation Booths and Activities.
Train rides on the historic Boulder City Branch Line will be offered at 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 2:00pm.
